Well it was my birthday this weekend and I was a rather lucky girl! I got a new camera, a Canon 40D, and a new lens, a Sigma 10-20, and also a filter kit. I was considering asking for the money for a deposit to put a Mk2 on tick but decided to work my way up the range, which is probably the sensible option! Done all about all I can with my entry level 350D so time for a semi-pro one.

Not selling my 350D though, have got plans for that when I can some tax relief I'm due.

Have only had chance to get out once with my new toys and that was to Carlisle Rail Depot (check out the pics in my "latest work" gallery), but I'm absolutely dying to try them out with a model.

I have finally got my ass into gear and signed up to Model Mayhem. I'm hoping to inject some fresh faces into my portfolio. My regular models are a godsend but I'm starting to need a bit more variety again. If anyone is on there do feel free to add me:

I think I've hit a bit of a plateau when it comes to lighting techniques etc recently. I've bought a few books on the subject for inspiration and all the stuff I wanna do requires alot more equipment than what I've got currently. And I neither have the money or the space to get it :( So that kinda sucks. I'm considering hiring a studio for a couple of hours if not a day, just to try some things out sometime.

I'm hoping to do some things to spice up my imagination soon though. With any luck I'll find some more local models on MM, as I'm wanting to try out some more art-nude and fetish work, possibly work with some MUA's, and also I'm going to break my own rule of not doing model shoots in hospitals/asylums. My principles have prevented me from doing so before as I do find it a bit disrespectful but I think if done tastefully and not just exploiting the history of the people who inhabited the building, I could get away with it. The safest location up here has gone into a state where access is pretty damn easy (no roof climbs required anymore!) so I am definitely contemplating it. With the right person. I just have to find them now!

On another note, a few changes been made to my full-time job, as from the next few weeks I'm not going to have to do anymore travelling, I am going full-time at the local permanent Pixi-Foto studio, which I'm looking forward too as it means I get alot more time on camera which is more fun and it all adds up to more experience with posing family groups and making silly noises at babies.

May has me looking forward too Fins and Chrome, the local American classic car show, which is always awesome. June we've got an asylum trip planned but destinations are unconfirmed as of yet, mainly because we cant decide whether to go down London way again or over to Wales!
